Electrical Engineering Technology

The Electrical Engineering Technology (ELET) program at UNC Charlotte prepares graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (BSET) program for careers across a broad spectrum of technologies. The program has two Engineering Technology (ET) concentration areas or tracks: 1) Computer or 2) Electronics.

The UNC Charlotte ELET program includes course-work in the following areas:

  • Linear Circuits (Application of fundamental tools from Physics and Mathematics to the analysis and design of analog (linear) electrical and electronic systems)
  • Digital Logic and Systems (Application and design of digital systems for logical decision making, system control, and digital signal processing)
  • Computer Networks and Systems (Applications, principles, technology, and design of Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks and the Internet)
  • Electronic Circuits and Systems (Applications and principles of modern electronic devices as used in electronic control, communications, consumer applications, and energy control)
  • Control Systems (Applications of classical and modern feedback control systems to a wide variety of electrical and mechanical systems)
  • Computer Programming (Applications of object-oriented programming languages such as JAVA)

The upper division (junior and senior years) of the Electrical Engineering Technology Program is also offered as an Individual Access, BSET Degree completion program to address the needs of working adults.  The program is the same as the on-campus program; the program content, objectives and outcomes are identical to the on-campus offerings.  However, the program is designed to meet the academic needs of electrical engineering technicians who currently hold the Associate in Applied Science Degree (AAS) but are place bound and cannot attend classes on campus.
